Claflin Books is your local, independent bookstore located in Manhattan, Kansas. We have been in business for 24 years. We are members of the Arts and Humanities Association of Manhattan (AHA!) and the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff are here to guide you on your next reading adventure. Claflin Books is an independently and locally owned bookstore in Manhattan, Kansas.  Our inventory is hand-selected by our knowledgeable staff, not just stocked.

Stormy is a Manhattan, Kansas native who, apart from a brief period elsewhere, where she found she missed the Flint Hills, has lived here most of her life.  Being the daughter of two educators, reading has always been an important part of her life and when the opportunity to own her own bookstore presented itself, she grabbed it.  She has run Claflin Books for 25 years now and continues to promote literacy in the community.
